Windows Remote Desktop Connection – Keyboard Issues

Problem: when connecting to a computer using Remote Desktop, you cannot get to the characters that require the use of the right Alt key (Alt Car).

Solution: in the Remote Desktop Connection window, click on the “Options” button to access the advanced options. Go to the “Local Resources” tab, in the “Keyboard” section, choose “On this computer”.

Why did I create this page? I had this problem on a computer running Windows XP when I tried to connect to a Windows 2008 server. I wasn’t able to access the advanced characters of my “French – Canada” keyboard. A Google search did not help, I had to find the solution by myself, I hope this helps someone.
